Transfer Into Illinois

Welcome to Illinois Ministries of the Church of God! Illinois is a great state organization that is always excited to welcome new brothers and sisters into our ministry fellowship. Please take some time to check out this website and discover the many ministry opportunities available in this state.

If you are an ordained, licensed, or commissioned minister in good standing in the Church of God you need to request an Inter-Assembly Transfer from the state, region, or province that current hold your credentials to be sent to the Illinois Ministries office. You can make that request through your state office or your state, region or province credentials chair person. For all other persons who are engaged in Church of God ministry without credentials please contact Pastor Eric Livingston at this office to discuss certain next steps.

You will also be asked to supply Illinois Ministries of the Church of God with a background check before we can accept a transfer. If you are serving at a Church of God congregation that, as part of the search process, performed a background check through the Illinois Ministries office or similar background check we can usually accept that check if it was performed within the last 12 months. You will, however, need to sign a waiver in order for the church to share that information. Click here for a waiver form . Illinois is divided into 3 districts, each served by a local credentials body. These 3 credentials bodies are then represented on the state credentials committee.
